Juhannus / Mid summer

Viime kesäisten vieraiden retkikertomus jatkuu.

I'm continuing the story of my visitors from England.

Juhannuksena Mabel ja Mack Talvio lounastivat rouva Nallen luona Villa Annassa. Muu perhe oli poissa, joten rouva viihdytti vieraita vauvojen kanssa. Teekupposen äärellä he puhuivat elämästä ja lapsista.
On Midsummer Mabel and Mack Periwinkle had a lunch with Mrs. Bear in Villa Anna. Her husband and older children were out, so it was up to her and babies to entertain the guests. They had blast over a cup of tea (English tea of course) and talked about life and children.

Talviot nauttivat lounaasta kovin, mutta nallevauvat saivat heidät ikävöimään omia lastenlapsiaan kaukana Englannissa. Mutta puhelimet on keksitty ja Mack muistutti Mabelille, että tämä on heidän seikkailunsa! Kotiin paluun jälkeen on paljon aikaa lastenlasten kanssa kertoen tarinoita tältä matkalta.
Mabel and Mack really enjoyed their hospitality, but the bear babies made them miss their own grandchildren back in England. But luckily phones are available and Mack reminded Mabel, that this is their adventure! They would have lots of time to spend with their grandchildren when they get home, telling everything of their trips.

Juhannusyönä on perinteistä rakentaa kokko. Talviot olivat innoissaan tapahtumasta, Mabelin lasitkin ovat vinossa.
On Midsummers night, it's a tradition to build a bonfire. The Periwinkles were quite excited about the bonfire, Mabel even had some hassle with her glasses. 

Tämä kokko oli rakennettu rannalle, ja se sytytettiin ennen puolta yötä.
Bonfire was build on a beach. It was set on fire before midnight, but the sun doesn't set and it is so light outside. 

Aurinko painui piiloon vähäksi aikaa, mutta ulkona oli valoisaa koko ajan. Auringon kajo oli romanttista Mabelille ja Mackille.
The sun went down for a little while, but the it was light outside all night. Beautiful horizont at seaside - it was quite romantic for Mabel and Mack.

Toisessa suunnassa näkyi kuu, kun Talviot kävivät kävelyllä laiturilla.
Moon in the other direction. Mabel and Mack went for a little walk on the pier.
