Organzaa

Creative Knockouts haastoi käyttämään lempinauhaa tällä viikolla. Minun on organza, koska se on läpinäkyvää mutta tarvittaessa kerrostamalla siitä saa näyttävää. Tämän kortin vaaleansininen organza sopii hyvin yhteen kuvan kanssa, mutta ei vie liikaa huomiota siltä. Jasmine on leimattu Stampeden leimalla ja puettu paperilla, koska lähtökohtana oli itämaisen tunnelman luovat kuviopaperin palat.

This week Creative Knockouts challenged us to use our favourite ribbon. Mine is organza - it's see-through, but with layers you can change it to luxurious. I used pale blue one for this card, it goes well with the image of Jasmine (stamp by Stampede). I paper pieced the image to go with strips of pattern paper, I thought it had some oriental feeling.

Ariel

Viime aikoina olen jonkin ollut Disneyn lumoissa, joten kun The Pink Elephant haasteessa pyydettiin meriaihetta, ei aihetta tarvinnut miettiä kauan. Joten tässä on Pienen Merenneidon Ariel ystävineen:

 Nowadays my mind often wanders to the magical world of Disney, so when The Pink Elephant challenged us with a seaside theme, I didn't have to think long. So here is Ariel of the Little Mermaid with her friends: 

Väritin ihanat kuvat Arielista, Sebastianista ja Pärskystä akvarelleilla. Taustalle on leimattu Pink Paisleen ja Inkadinkadon meraiheisia leimoja sinisellä, valkoisella ja vesileimamusteilla. Tein korttiin lopuksi kehykset valkoisella geelikynällä.

I coloured the sweet images of Ariel, Sebastian and Flounder with Derwent watercolour pencils. For the background images I used blue, white and watermark inks and Pink Paislee and some Inkadinkado stamps. I went over the edges of the card with white gel pen.

Leima-projekti / Stamp project

Olen ostanut muutamia tällaisia italialaisen Multiprintin leimasettejä, koska aiheet ovat olleet niin kivoja. Niitä on ollut myynnissä ainakin Anttilassa ja Suomalaisessa Kirjakaupassa. Aiheina ovat olleet Disney-hahmot ja My Little Pony, ja sellaisia leimoja harvemmin näkee. Niillä leimaaminen ei kuitenkaan onnistunut täydellisesti, joten asialle piti tehdä jotain.

This is a picture of a stamp set by an italian Multiprint. They have been sold in a local book store chain and department store chain. The images, for example Disney characters and My Little Pony, are hard to find in Finland, so I have bought some stamp sets like these. But stamping with them wasn't perfect, so I had a little project with them.

Vaalea kumi on kiinnitetty suoraan puupalikkaan, ei tietoakaan pehmusteesta välissä. Liimakaan ei ollut kovin pitävää, yleensä kumi lähti helposti irti yhtä kulmaa nostamalla.

The pale rubber is attached directly to the wood block, no foam in between. I lifted one corner of the rubber and usually the rubber sheet came off right away.

Melko yksinkertaisten kuvien, kuten Hello Kittyjen ja Nalle Puhien, en uskonut tarvitsevan pehmustetta, joten niiden taakse levitin Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over liimaa. Lisää tietoa on tästä vaihtoehdosta on täällä.

Pretty simple images, like Hello Kittys and Winnie the Pooh characters, don't necessarily need foam mounting, so I spread Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over glue. You can find more about it here.

Yksityiskohtaisemmilla leimoilla leimasin kuvan ez-mountille tai kling-onille, ja sitten kiinnitin leiman pehmusteen toiselle puolelle. Näin kuvat leimautuvat paremmin, ja pidän kovasti kuvasta pehmusteessa - paljon helpompi suunnitella miten leimaa.

The more detailed images I stamped on kling-on/ez-mount, and did my best to attach the images on the same spot on the other side of mount. With foam they stamp better, and I really love having the image on the foam :)

Belle

Olen tänään Disney-tunnelmissa, joten ajattelin jatkaa teemaa bloginkin puolella. Tämän kortin kuva on Kaunottaren ja Hirviön Belle. Ei juhlapuvussaan, vaan kauniissa kotimekossaan. Pieni leima on italialaisen Multiprintin tekemä, tekstileima Nea-Idean. Lisäsin lehtiä pilkottamaan kuvan taakse kehystämään. Tyyliltään kortti on yksinkertainen, ja sitä haetaankin the Pink Elephant haasteessa.

Today my mind is in the magical world of Disney, so I thought I might spread it in the blog too. The heroine of this card is Belle, the beauty of The Beauty and the Beast. Not in her shiny dancing gown, but in her lovely home dress. The stamp is made by an italian Multiprint company, and the sentiment is in Finnish "Congratulations on your special day" (yes, in finnish you can say all that with two words xD ). The card is simple style, and that was asked in the Pink Elephant challenge.
