Green tea party

Ensin tein vain hameosan FF vauvalle, mutta mekko kaipasikin myös yläosaa. Toteutin yläosan kahdesta kangassuikaleesta, jotka ompelin edestä yhteen. Kaula-aukosta tuli siis v-muotoinen ja hihaosat asettuivat hieman hassusti.

First I made the skirt, but it needed a top part too. I used two narrow slices of fabric - I sewed them together in the front and formed v-shape. The cotton fabric has beautiful tiny print, and works well for even the smallest critters.

Sain mekon ujutettua istuvalle Sylvisvauvalle :D Oikein rouvalta näyttää näin, joten piti kaivaa tesetti esiin. rouvalle. 

The dress even fits a sitting Sylvanian baby! Sitting figures are a bit harder to dress. She looks like a lady in this dress, so I gave her a teaset to enjoy.

Tuunailuvaihe

Tigerista ostettujen vanerihuonekalujen muutos on edennyt. Ensin kokosin sängyt, mutta ne eivät ole niin tukevia kuin toivoin. Eli palaan sänkyihin myöhemmin.

I have done more to the wood veneer pieces I found in Tiger. First I assembled the beds, but they don't feel as sturdy as I hoped for, so you will see them later.

Jalkalamppu kaipasi myös lisää tukea, mutta se oli helppo toteuttaa kapeilla jäätelötikun paloilla. Liimasin varren molemmille puolille alkuperäistä kapeamman tikun ja niin varsi sai paremmin kolmiulotteisuutta. Kuvasta ei nyt ilmene alaspäin levenevä ristin muotoinen yläosa, jonka päälle ompelin sopivan varjostimen. Varjostin pysyy oikein mainiosti tiukasti paikoillaan ilman liimaakin.

The floor lamp isn't sturdy either, but that was easily fixed with popsickle sticks. I put two narrow strips on both sides of the original base, and I think they give nice depth to the design. I sewed shader piece from cotton fabric, it goes very well on top of the cross shape lamp.

Tässä vertailukuva itse tekemääni jalkalamppuun. Omani alusta näyttää aivan liian pieneltä ja varjostin suurelta! Mutta jalkalamppujahan on monenlaisia oikeastikin. Ei tuo vihreä varjostiminen liian matala mahda olla, eiköhän se valaisen norsurouvan kirjaa sohvalla istuttaessa.

Here is a comparison photo with floor lamp made by me. I made mine longer, but I don't think the green shaded lamp is too short. I guess my figures can sit on a sofa reading witht this lamp.

Setin mukanahan tuli vaahtomuovipaloja tuolien ja sohvan pehmusteiksi. Minä käytin niitä omien pehmustimieni täytteinä, kun olivat juuri sopivan muotoisia. Tuolin malli on kyllä hieman pieni, kun norsurouva vie yli puolen sohvan tilasta.

The set included foam pieces as cushions for sofa etc. I used them as stuffing for the cushions I made :D I need to make a cushion for back too. This is a small love seat for them, as my adults fill over half of the sofa.

Romantic hedgehog

Tässä ensimmäisiä kokeilujani Cuttelbugilla. Ostamani Provocraftin pilkkukansio on hieman liian pieni ja korttien alareuna jää ilman koristeluja. Opin kantapään kautta, että jo kohokuvioitua osaa ei voi koneesta vetää läpi, mutta onneksi latistunut kohta on peitettävissä nauhalla. Leimasin Pennyn ihanan siilin suoraan pikkulehtiön ruusupaperille, joka tuo korttiin romanttista tunnelmaa. Osallistun Fussy and Fancy Friday ja Penny Black Saturday haasteisiin.

This card is one of my first tries with Cuttlebug. My polka dot embossing folder by Provocraft is too short for my card bases, but I learned I can't put the card through the machine again - it flats some areas. But luckily this time I could cover it up with some ribbon. The ribbon matches the premade little rose paper, on which I stamped the Penny Black hedgehog. The card ended up having romantic atmosphere. Hedgehogs go well with Fussy and fancy Friday challenge this week, and flowery theme is for Penny Black Saturday challenge.

Vihreätä ja kukkia / Green and flowers

Kuva-arkistostani löytyi tällainen julkaisematon korusetti. Ideana vihreä-valkoinen korusetti lasihelmistä. Ensimmäinen idea oli käyttää kurvikkaita vihreitä helmiä rannekoruun, kaunis kukkalukko on ostettu Korutaivaasta. Korviksissa teema jatkuu valkoisilla kukkahelmillä. Sormuksessa on yksinkertaisesti lehden muotoinen helmi, mutta sormus pitänee uudistaa käytännöllisemmäksi.

I have done this set couple of summers ago, but haven't published the picture. The idea was to use the curved green glass beads on a bracelet, I chose transparent and white beads to go with them. The flowery theam of the bracelet lock continues with white glass flower beads on earrings and necklace. The earring has single leaf glass bead, but I might need to modify it into more beautiful piece.

Massastahan saa vaikka mitä! / Anything of polymer clay

Kylpyhuonetta sisustaessani tajusin, että tarvitsen hammasharjoja! Joten niitä muotoilin eri värisistä massoista, kerralla oikein joukon. Pitäähän Pikkaraisten pitää hyvää huolta hampaistaan ;)

I made a bunch of toothbrushes! I figured my critters should keep good care of their teeth. They were easy to make, so I made lots of them.

Kokeilin myös lautasten tekoa. Melko pieniä näistä tuli, kun napilla painetin jäljen mukaan leikkasin. Pyöröpäisellä välineelle tein keskustan, tosin siinä tuli liian pieni kaikkiin ruokiin nähden.

I made some tiny plates too. The edges of the plates are stamped with a button and I formed the plate part with ball point tool. These are suitable for baby ducks, but there isn't much room for food on the plate xD

Japanilaisten ReMent miniatyyrien innoittaman tein Tuhkimon vaunujen teemalla teekannun. Valkoisesta massasta tein, oveen on painettu kuva napilla ja kaikki on maalattu jälkikäteen. Ehkä tällekin sopiva paikka joskus löytyy.

Inspired by some japanese Rement treasures I made a teapot with looks of Cinderella carriage :D Its all white polymer clay, but I painted it with pure white and gold acrylic paint. The door is stamped with a button. Maybe I'll have suitable place for this some day.

Synttärihumua / Birthday bush

Aikoinaan kun ihastuin Penny Blackin leimoihin, löysin kuvan tästä leimasta puukantaisena (2352K Cake Dance) ja se oli heti suosikkini. Myöhemmin firma alkoi julkaista vanhoja leimojaan slap stickeinä (kumi leima + pehmuste), ja miten iloinen olinkaan että tämä leima julkaistiin niiden joukossa. Myös taustan tähtileimasin on Penny Blackin seteistä, väritin osan valkoisiksi Picket Fence Distress Markerilla. Pienempi kakkupaperi on väritetty myös Distressin musteella. Osallistun Penny Black and More haasteeseen.

When I first infatuated Penny Black stamps, I found a picture of this image (2352K Cake Dance) and it was an instant favourite! Later the company released some older pictures as slapsticks and I was so happy that Cake Dance was among them. The star stamp used in the background is also their stamp, I highlighted some stars with Picked Fence Distress Marker. I enter the Penny Black and more challenge.

Sinistä joulua / Blue Christmas

Sinisen ja valkoisen yhdistelmä on talvisen näköinen, ja mielestäni myös jouluun sopiva. Eli embossasin valkoisella Panduron ihanan joulukuusen, ja leimasin ja väritin paperin. Reunat koristelin lumitähti-leikkurilla ja koristelin kuusen muutamalla puolihelmellä. Epäsymmetrisesti niitä sirottelin, vaikka kuusi on symmetrinen ;) Osallistun ABC Christmas haasteeseen.

Quick and easy is the theme for ABC Christmas challenge this week. I embossed Panduros scolled Christmas tree to a paper, stamped script with dark blue ink and distressed the paper with lighter blue ink. The edges I punched with a snowflake craft punch, and decorated the tree with colourful half pearls. I would call it easy, maybe quick once you know what to do. But while creating the card I took some time to think the next move, so not so quick then. But I'm quite happy with my card, I think blue and white go well with Christmas.

Leijonaa mä metsästin / More lions

Aluksi en kiinnittänyt paljon huomiota yhdessä lotissa saamaani suureen leijonaan. Ommellessani hänelle mekkoa hän alkoikin näyttää söpöltä. Eli ei kun etsimään lisää perhettä! Mutta leijonista ei löytynytkään mitään tietoa, vain isä ja kaksi lasta myynnissä yhdellä nettisivulla. Myyjän tavoittaminen kesti kauan, mutta viimein loput perheestä saapui.

At first I wasn't so interested of my lion lady. But while sewing clothing for her she started to look very cute and in need of a family. But I couldn't find any information about flocked lions, only found ones were a father and two children for sale on a website. It took months to reach the seller, but finally the family was reunited.

Sittemmin leijonat on todettu olevan saksalaisen Simban valmistamia Teddy Bear World sarjaansa. Koska leijonat ovat Forest Families perheitä suurempia, myös lapset ovat. Tässä kokovertailua Bärenwald karhulapsen, FF norsuvauvan, Sylvanian vauvan, FF kettulapsen ja Zoo families norsulapsen kanssa.

We now know, that lions belong to Teddy Bear World series by german Simba company. The lions are bigger than Forest Families figures, so their children are too. Here is a comparison photo of them next to Bärenwald bear child, FF elephant baby, Sylvanian rabbit baby, FF fox child and Zoo families elephant child.

Kesämekko / Summer dress

Olen tehnyt tästä kankaasta aiemminkin samalla rypytystyylillä mekon, mutta pikkuruiselle siilille. Piti kokeilla suurempaakin versiota. Tein aika isoja vekkejä, eikä mekko niillä liikaa leventynytkään. Kankaan olen tuonut itse Italian matkalta.

I have made a pleated dress from this fabric before too, but for a tiny hedgehog. I wanted to try a bigger version too. The pleads are wider, but the hem didn't get too wide. I have bought the fabric in Italy.

Koholakasta / About glossy accents

Tämä kortti syntyi ideasta käyttää Stampendousin reunaleimaa kortin alareunassa ja leikata kortin reuna sitä mukaillen. Kortti alkoikin noudattaa vähemmän on enemmän periaatetta, eli suoraan korttipohjaan leimatulla tekstillä ja yhdellä kohotetulla koristeella mennään. Koristeen olen tehnyt itse leimaamalla Inkadinkadoon leiman ja lisäämällä ympyrän päälle koholakkaa (Glossy Accenttia). Perhonen muistuttaakin nyt lähinnä tarraa. Osallistun The Pink Elephant haasteeseen.

This card is based on the idea of stamping Stampendous border stamp on the edge of the card and cut the edge according to the stamped image. Since I stamped directly on the card base, the card is themed less is more. The sentiment is stamped on the card too, and it means greetings with open arms (? I'm not sure how it should be translated). The embellishment is stamped with Inkadinkado stamp and covered with Glossy Accent. It reminds a puffy sticker now. I enter the Pink Elephant challenge.

Sananen vielä koholakoista. Ensimmäisenä ostin Anitan 3D Clear Gloss Finish pullon, ja vasta myöhemmin Inkessentialin oman Glossy Accentin. Näissähän on ihan selvästi eroa! Anitan tuotteen nokka tukkeutuu paljon helpommin, eikä aina kuivu sievästi. Glossy Accent sen sijaan toimii aina, ja sitä voi käyttää liimanakin. Anitan Tacky Gluesta pidän kovasti, mutta näiden tuotteiden kohdalla valitsisin merkkituotteen. Tiedoksi vain, jos joku on miettinyt tätä :)

A word about glossy finishes. I first purchased Anitas Clear Gloss Finish, and recently I bought Inkessentials original Glossy Accent. There is a difference between these products! Clear Gloss Finish doesn't work so smoothly as Glossy Accent does: the tip clocks more easily and it doesn't dry nicely all the time. Glossy Accent works as a glue too. While I love Anitas Tacky Glue, but here its best to buy the original Glossy Accent ;)

Pöytä / Table

Minulla oli tällainen ruskea Sylvanian sarjan pyörä pöytä, jonka alareunassa on aaltomaiset koristeet. Kerran niitä ihastellessani tajusin, että voisinhan tehdä jotain samanlaista puiseenkin pöytään :D

I had this brown Sylvanian table with wavy trimming. Once I was looking at it, and hit me to try the same with wooden table!

Eli heti aloin koristelemaan aiemmin tekemääni pöytää. Siihen piti ensin lisätä neljäs jalka, kolme ei ollut riittävän tukeva. Koristeet ovat leveiden jäätelötikkujen päitä.

So I trimmed the table I had made before. I added a fourth leg, because with three it was too wobbly. The trimmings are ends of popsickle sticks, and I think the trimmings look great.

Pöydän päällä on silmätippapipettejä, jotka on muutettu nukkekodin pulloiksi :) Oculac on vaihtanut pipettimallia, joten Viscotearsin nimellä saa näitä pullomaisia tällä hetkellä. Muovi on pehmeää, joten ne on helppo trimmata mattoveitsellä siisteiksi. Nukkekotikerhokaverini tulosti etiketit pulloihin.

On the top of the table are real eye droppers turned into dollhouse bottles :) My friend I painted some green and she printed labels for them.

Vaunut / Carriage

Palataanpa valkoisiin metallihuonekaluihin. Vaunuihin liimattu ollut vauva lähti helposti irti ja tein ihanasta Tildan kankaasta niihin petivaatteet. Huonekalusetin kanssa olen ollut vähän hukassa, tuolit menettelevät, mutta pöydän jalat ovat omituisen malliset ja pöytä on liian korkea. Saatte pian nähdä mitä näille kävi.

I haven't forgotten to tell more about white wire furniture ;) So the baby glued to the carriage was easily removed, and I made new bedding from a beautiful Tilda fabric. I have been more lost with the other furniture: the chairs are ok, but the table has awkward legs and its a bit too high. But you'll see soon what I did with them.

Juu, elefanttivauvoja on nyt kaksi :D Norsuvauva on mielestäni kaikkein söpöin Pikkarainen jota maailma päällään kantaa, joten pitäähän niitä olla enemmänkin.

Yes, now I have two Forest Families elephant babies :D I think its the cutest thing ever, so I should have more than one of them.

Tiedän, että vaunut näyttävät vähän hassuilta muotonsa vuoksi. Mutta minulle oli tärkeää löytää vaunut, joiden aisa on sopivalla korkeudella äidille ja vauva(t) mahtuu kyytiin. 1:12 koossa ovat liian korkeita, mutta pienemmässä mittakaavassa liian pieniä vauvalle.

I know the carriage is oddly shaped, but I had hard time finding suitable ones. I needed ones big enough for the baby, but enough low for the mother to push. The 1:12 scale is too big, but others are too small for baby. So this was perfect one, even tough I had to order them across the ocean.
