Vaaleanpunaista / Some pink

Cute Card Thursday challenges us to use colour pink this week. I had this beautiful piece of old pink cardstock embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folder, but the embossing seem to get lost there. I tried to make it more visible by smearing white paint, but the result isn't a success. I embellished it with some half pearls and a vellum butterfly.

Olen ystävältä aikoinaan saanut valmiiksi Cuttlebugilla kohokuvioidun pinkin paperin, mutta kuvio tuntui jotenkin hukkuvan siihen. Yritin korostaa kuviota levittelemällä valkoista akryylimaalia sinne tänne, mutta ei se oikein toiminut. Koristeiksi valitsin puolihelmiä ja kuultopaperista leikatun perhosen. Sininen astiasto / Blue tea set

Myönnetään, olen hulluna miniatyyriposliiniastioihin :D Ne ovat niin suloisia! Niitähän on monen kokoisia, mutta onneksi astioiden koko vaihtelee paljon oikeassakin elämässä ja minulla on monenkokoisia nukkekoteja. Tämä suloinen sinikukkainen astiasto löytyi kirjamessuilta yli vuosi sitten. Siihen kuuluu jopa kahden kokoisia lautasia, joten tarjoiltavia vain kehittämään.

I admit, I have a thing for miniature porcelain sets :D They are so cute! There are several sizes of them, but luckily size of dishes vary in real life too and I have dollhouses of several scale. I found this sweet blue flowered crockery set at book trade show over a year ago. It has even two sized plates, so know I need to figure something to serve from them.

Vaaleanpunaiset pikkaraispuput ihmettelemässä olisiko tämä kiva astiasto heidän toistaiseksi olemattomaan kotiinsa.

Pink Forest Families bunnies are wondering if this blue crockery would suit their non existing home.

Talvimetsä / Winter woods

Artemion metsäleima innosti minutluomaan metsämaisemaa korttiin. Peitin ensin lumihangiksi aiotut alueet ja tuputtelin musteita taivasta varten. Niistä vaikuttaa tulevan parempia, mitä enemmän Distress musteita käyttää, joten sinisen alta kuultaa keltaista, turkoosia ja violettia. Leimasin Artemion kuuset Evergreen boughlla ja laveerasin vaaleansinistä hankiin. Pirskottamalla vettä musteeseen tuli valkoisia pisteitä lumihiutaleiksi, ja jatkoin vaikutelmaa värittämällä kuusia valkoisella geenikynällä. Koristeeksi kortti kaipasi jotain yksinkertaista, joten valitsin tummanpuisen lumitähtinapin. Osallistun Stampavie haasteeseen.

I bought a new stamp set by Artemio and the tree stamp inspired me to create a winter scene. I masked an area for snowbanks, and applied Distress inks to the sky. The scene looks better when more colours are used, so you can see yellow, turqoise and violet under the blue. I stamped the trees with Evergreen bough, and gave a little colour to the snow with light blue ink. I sprinkled some water to the card, so the sky is full of falling snow. The trees I coloured with white gel pen to continue the effect. Wooden snowflake button was great as an embellishment, less is more with such a big image. Winter is the theme for Stampavie challenge.

Kukkatyyny / Flower pillow

Netistä löytyi hauska pienenpieni kukkaohje ristipistoille, joten innostuin tekemään tyynyn sillä. Ensimmäinen puoli jäi melkoisen vaisuksi, kun käytin ääriviivoihin harmaata. Tästä oppineena toiselle puolelle tein ääriviivat mustalla ja kukka on heti skarpimpi. Eipä sitä nukkekodissa paljon tarvitsekaan käännellä :) Hauskaa väriä tämä tuo nukkekotiin, pidän erilaisten materiaalien vaihtelusta.

I found a tiny flower pattern for cross stitching, so I turned it into a pillow. On the first side I used grey as outlines for the flower, and it didn't work with my soft colours. So on the second side I used black for outlines and brighter colours, and it became a beauty. Luckily the pillow won't get turned much in dollhouse :) It will go well there, I like different materials next to each other.

Lisää mekkoja / More dresses

Ensimmäinen virkattu mekko Pikkaraiselle onnistui aika hyvin suoralta kädeltä, mutta toinen vaati jo useamman kerran purkamista ja uusintaa. Monesti mekko leveni liikaa, joten levennyksiä piti harventaa selvästi. Mekon tein tällä kertaa yksivärisestä langasta, joten suunnittelin siihen yläosan, joka jatkaa helman piparkakkureunoja. Mekko esittelee ponityttönen, joka ei ole blogissa ennen vilahtanutkaan. Aika veikeä otus vai kuinka?

My success with the first crocheted dress for dollhouse critters seems to have been luck, as the second one was much harder. The dress kept being too wide, so I had to unravel and make less increments to it. The yarn was solid colour this time, so I came up with the idea to duplicate the scalloped hem to the upper part of the dress. The dress is presented by a Forest Families pony child, you haven't seen her before on my blog. Quite cute for a pony, don't you agree?

Kolmas mekko syntyi vihreästä langasta ja siitä tuli yksinkertaisempi. Kuvan perusteella helman lehtimäiset kuviot eivät näytä lainkaan lehtimäisiltä, mutta luonnossa ne ovat vähän paremmin tunnistettavissa. Pidän kovasti virkatuista mekoista näillä lapsosilla!

I made a third dress from green yarn and it's more simple. I made little leafs to the hem, but it isn't so apparent at all in the photo. They look a bit more like leafs in real life, but it wasn't a success. I adore these figures with crocheted dresses though!

Siilihalaus / Hedgehog hug

Tämä valloittava halauskuva on Penny Blackilta tietysti. Kortissa yhdistyvät vaaleanruskea ja punainen ruusukuvioinen kuultopaperi (Tiimarista?), mutta jotain siitä jäi puuttumaan. Ala reunan sydämet on leimattu Priman ruusutaustaleimalla sydämen muotoisen aukon läpi vesileimamusteella Versamarkilla, mutta ne ehkä olisivat saaneet olla näkyvämpiä. Osallistumpa kuitenkin Penny Black Saturday haasteeseen.

The sweetest hug image ever is by Penny Black and I accompanied them with a piece of rose vellum. The bottom hearts are masked and then stamped with rose background by Prima with Versamark. I like the combination of brown and the red rose paper, but this card still feels like it need something. Maybe the bottom hearts should have been more visible. Anyway, anything goes for the Penny Black Saturday challenge.

Hääkortti / Wedding card

Pahoittelut hiljaisuudesta. Syksy on ollut pimeä ja väsyttävä, mutta hiljalleen valo ja energia lisääntyy. Blogi on jäänyt kovin jälkeen ja vanhojen juttujen laittaminen ei useinkaan inspiroi. Mutta hiljalleen blogi päivittyy!

Sorry for the silence. The fall has been dark and tiring, but the days are getting lighter and giving more energy. The blog has been left behind of my crafts, and old projects don't inspirate to blog so often. But slowly I'm getting there!

Pastellisävyjä pyydetään Winter Wonderland haasteessa, joten miksipä ei vaaleanpunaista? Siihen kun yhdistää kakkupaperin, syntyy kovin romanttista jälkeä. Siispä valitsin kuvaksii The Greeting Farmin upean kuvan ja tein hääkortin. Korttipohja on valmiiksi tuollainen, leikkasin paperin vähän pienemmäksi. Organzanauhaa ja helmisydän riittivät koristeeksi.

Winter Wonderland challenged us to use pastel colours, so why not pink? It looks great with doily, so the card became quite romantic. At that point one can only go all the way, so I picked a romantic picture from The Greeting Farm and made a wedding card. The cardbase is ready made, but I cut the paper to same shape. I added organza ribbon and pearl heart to embellish the card.

Sataa kukkia / Raining daisies

Hellyttävä Penny Blackin nallukka kukkasateessa on uusimpia leimojani :) Vaikka Penny Blackilta ilmestyy uusia leimasettejä, nämä vanhat puukantaiset miellyttävät entistä enemmän. Kokeilin ensimmäistä kertaa tilkkutäkkiä kuviopaperin paloista, aika hauska siitä tuli. Valitsin kuvaan värit papereista ja kehykseksi pienen kakkupaperin. Osallistun Penny Black and More haasteeseen.

The Raining daisies teddy by Penny Black is one my newest stamps. New stamps are published yearly, but the old wooden stamps look even more endearing to me :) For the first time I tried making patch work of designer paper pieces, I like it quite much. I framed the image with a piece of doily, and coloured the image with watercolour crayons. I enter the Penny Black and More challenge.

Virkkausta / Crocheted

Keräilijäkollegan inspiroimana kansainvälisellä Sylvanian foorumilla kokeilin virkata vaatteita nukkekotiin. DMC:n nro 8 liukuvärjätty puuvillalanka antoi mekolle ihanan ulkonäön! Käytin 0,6mm koukkua tähän.

Inspired by a fellow collector over the Sylvanian Families forum, I crocheted an outfit to a bear girl. The sliding shades of DMC perle cotton 8 gave the dress wonderful look :) I used JMRA 11 = 0,6 mm hook. 

Villa Anna on tosin nähnyt virkattuja asuja aiemminkin, kuvassa osa vuosien takaa. Lapsuudessa siskoni kanssa virkkasimme väelle paljon vaatteita, taisimme osata virkata ennen kuin lukea. Mistä lie keksimme lierihattujen tekemisen, sitä en vieläkään ymmärrä.

Villa Anna has seen crocheted outfits before too, some are pictured above. In our childhood me and my sister used to crochet lots of outfits for our dollhouse figures, I think we crocheted before we read. I still don't understand how we came up with making bonnets.

Kana / Chicken

Hiekkalaatikkoleikkeihin tarkoitetuissa eläinseteissä oli kana. Ei kummoisen näköinen eikä mitään. Mutta jokin jalustassa sai sen näyttämään patsaalta. Kas kummaa, kun kultamaalilla sai ihmeitä aikaan! En tiedä miksi kenelläkään nukkekodissa olisi kanapatsasta, mutta hyllyjen täytteelle lienee aina tarvetta.

In one of small plastic animal sets for sandbox plays was a chicken figure. It doesn't look anythign special, but the pedestal makes it look like a statue. What wonders some golden paint did to it! Although I don't know why anyone in dollhouse would have chicken statue, but one always need stuff to fill shelfs.

Kenguru saapui! / Kangaroo is here!

Sylvanialaisvauvat on pienempiä kuin Pikkaraisten vauvat, mutta sylvanialaisistakin löytyy yksi kaikkia muita pienempi - kenguruvauva! Kenguru on vastasyntynyt ja äidillään on essussa tasku pienokaista varten. Muut perheen jäsenet eivät minua juuri ihastuttaneet ja japanilainen versio olisi tullut liian kalliiksi, joten etsin kauan vauvaa yksinään myynnissä ennen kuin onnisti.

Sylvanian babies are smaller than Forest Families babies, but there is one tinies of them all - sylvanian kangaroo baby! The baby is presented as a newborn and the apron of the mother has a pocket for the baby. The other family members didn't enchant me and the japanese version would have been too expensive, so I looked for a alone baby for sale quite some time.

Vaaleanpunainen takin tapainen ei ollut tarpeeksi vauvamainen, joten tein vauvelille uuden asun. Siitä tuli pidempi kuin vauvasta ja näköjään lapsonen voi sen varassa seistäkin. Kädenaukot olivat vähän haastavat ja hihoista tuli isot.

The pink jacket wasn't good for a baby I think, so I made an outfit myself. The sleeves were a challenge, so they became big for whole arms (makes dressing easier). The dress is longer than the baby, so it holds the baby upright xD

Jos kenguruperhe olisi tummanruskea, vauva olisi selvä Ruu. Mutta eipä perheen laji ole helposti tunnistettavissa, ja tämä vauva menisi jäniksestäkin. Ruskean pupuperheen äiti ainakin hoitaa innokkaasti orpolasta.

If the kangaroo family were brown, the baby would be Roo. But the species of the family isn't easily recognizable anyway, and this baby could pass as a rabbit. The mother of brown rabbit family is enthusiastic to nurse the little one.

Kuksat / Guksi

Sain muuttavalta ystävältäni vähän askartelumateriaalia, mm. kaksi suloista kuksaa! Ne lienevät olleet korvakorut joskus, mutta koko on juuri sopiva nukkekodin asukeilleni. Tässä tytöt pitävät juomahetkeä tekeillä olevan omenapöydän päällä.

A friend of mine was moving, and got rid of extra stuff. She gave two adorable guksis (traditional drinking cups in Lapland). They are small, I suspect they were made for earrings, but they go very well for the critters of my dollhouse. The girls are trying them out on a apple table I'm currently working on.
