Leijonan uudet vaatteet / New dress for lioness

Innostuin pupurouvalle tekemästäni mekosta niin, että sama piti toteuttaa rouva leijonallekin. Alunperin en ole ollut kovin innostunut leijonista, mutta hiljalleen mieltymys kasvoi. Leijonat ovat isompia kuin muut, mutta sehän vain tarkoittaa isompaa taloa ja isompia huonekaluja, ja ainakin jälkimmäisiä on enemmän saatavilla.

I was inspired by the dress for miss Snow-Warren, that I had to make one for mrs lion too. When I first got her, I wasn't excited at all. But slowly she grew on me, and with clothes she is even more dear to me. She's big, but that only means bigger house and bigger furniture, which is easier to make and buy.

Myönnän että mekon tekoon meni melko kauan. Jokaisen supun tekemiseen tarvitaan monta pistoa ja solmua. Mutta kyllä se kannatti, pidän hänestä entistä enemmän tässä mekossa. Molemmat olkaimet ovat irroitettvat mekon pukemisen helpottamiseksi, samoin toiseen sivuun tuli halkio. 

It took quite a long time to make the dres. So many dots to smock! For easier clothing both straps and side are open and closed with buttons.

Koristeet minimissään / Minimum embellishments

Löysin Prismasta tällaisia jänniä korttipohjia, joissa on hopeaisia joulukuvia. Ne näkyvät vain tietyssä kulmassa, kuvaan sain ne kortin yläosaan. En halunnut sitten peittää korttipohjaa, vaan leimasin vain muutaman kuvan. Penny Blackin nallukan tonttulakin koristelin flockilla eli samettisella jauheella. Se käykin ABC haasteeseen tällä viikolla.

I found these awesome cardbases at a local market: they have silvery images on them, you can see it at the top of the card on my image. I didn't want to cover the base, so I just stamped few images on it. The sentiment is Christmas Wishes in Finnish. My only embellishments are flock on the white parts of the Santa hat on the Penny Black bear. So that goes for the ABC Challenge this week: minimum of embellishments.

Lisää asukkaita nukkekoteihin / More residents to dollhouses

Nukkekotiprojekteihin on tullut uusia asukkaita, vieläpä harvinaisia sellaisia! Englannista asti piti hommata, mutta harvinaiset gorilla- ja norsuvauvat saapuivat :) Forest Families sarjassa vauvat ovat harvinaisia, niitä ei ollut kuin muutamalla eläimellä. Tuo norsuvauva on kyllä ylisöpö, ehdoton lemppari! Siksi niitä itse asiassa on kaksi, ensimmäinen tuli vaihdolla Ruotsista.

I have acquired some new residents for my dollhouses. They are rare! The Forest Families toy line had babies only for couple of animals, and I got the gorilla and elephant babies all the way from England. The elephant baby is the cutest, my favourite! I actually got two of them, first one was a trade from Sweden.

Tässä Amerikasta saapuneet puput. FF-sarjan puput ovat harmaita, mutta ilmeisesti Atlantin toisella puolen niitä tehtiin myös ruskeina! Tämäkin on harvinaisuus, en ole edes löytänyt kuvaa toisesta ruskeasta pupusta. Nämä vaatteet eivät tosin miellytä, vielä mieleeni ei ole piirtynyt näiden pupujen perhetilanne tai koti.

These bunnies came from America. Usually Forest Families bunnies are grey, but over there they made brown ones too. But they are rare, I haven't found a picture of any other. I don't think they'll keep their clothes, but I don't have a family arrangements or home for then in my mind yet.

Joulurakkaus / Christmas Love

Rakkaus on teemana The Pink Elephant haasteessa, mutta minulla on joulukortteja näyttämättä. Mutta eipä mitään, onhan nämä yhdistettävissä! Kuvana on Penny Blackin suukottelevat hiiret, väritin akvarellikynillä. Taustalle leimasin Artemion kuusia täydentämään kuvaa, ne erottuvat kivasti vesileimamuste Versamarkilla.

Love is the theme for the Pink Elephant Challenge, but I still have some Christmas cards to show. But nevermind, I can combine these! This Cute Penny Black image is Christmas Love.., I coloured it with watercolour pencils. The Artemio trees on the cardbase were stamped with Versamark.

Massailua / Polymer clay

Tässä on nukkekotikerhomme ensimmäisiä massailukokeiluja. Porkkanat ovat minusta söpöjä, löysin niille ihanan pieniä minigrip-pussejakin! Omenat on värjätty jälkikäteen akryylimaalilla, muut ovat massan väreissä. Viimeinen lautasellinen on appelsiineja, vaikka niissä on tomaattimainen oranssi vivahde kuvassa.

My friend and I tried making miniatures from polymer clay for the first time. The carrots were easiest to make! I so enjoy them, I found a perfect mini-grip bag for them. The apples were coloured afterwards with acrylic paint, others are just clay. On the last plate are oranges, although they look tomatos.

Leipä onnistui minusta parhaiten! Niin pullea, voi vain puuttuu. Kakku on väritetty jälkikäteen eikä näytä kovin houkuttelevalta. Toisessa kakussa on mikrohelmiä marjoina ja väritin kermavaahdon jälkikäteen valkoiseksi.

 I think the bread was my biggest success, so nice and round. Only missing butter. The first cake had to be painted, and it still isn't tempting. The second cake has red miniature beads (no hole) and I recoloured the whipped cream white with acrylic paint.  

Cake Dance

Penny Black Lauantai -haasteessa pyydetään jotain uutta uuden vuoden kunniaksi. Minun uutuuteni on tämä Penny Blackin leima Cake Dance! Tämä on ensimmäinen kortti tällä suloisella leimalla. Ilmapallon ja liekin koristelin glossy accentilla. Kulmaleimasin on myös Penny Blackin, osan tähdistä väritin Picket Fence Distress Markerilla.

Something new is asked on the Penny Black Saturday challenge. My new is the PB stamp Cake Dance! I always wanted it, the hedgehogs are so sweet dancing around the cake. This is my first card using it. The corner stamp is also by Penny Black, I coloured some of the stars with Picket Fence Distress Marker. The balloon and fire got some glossy accent, so they're glazed.

Haamumainen kevät / Ghostly spring

Haamutekniikka toimii upeasti Inkadinkadon tuumasten kanssa! Leimasin kuvat Versamarkilla kiiltävälle kartongille ja kuivatin. Sitten pyörittelin Distress musteita päälle ja kuva jää näkyviin haamumaisena. Valitsin musteiksi vain muutamaa väriä, että tunnelmasta tulisi kuitenkin maanläheinen ja keväinen. Synttärikortteja pyydetäänkin Creative Knockout haasteessa.

Birthday is the theme for Creative Knockout challenge this week. My birthday card is made with ghost techinique and Inkadinkado inchie stamps. I stamped the images with Versamark on glossy cardstock and dried them. Then I went over with Distress inks, I picked only few colours to make this earthy and spring-themed colour combo.

Kokeilua / Attempting

Kerran kokeilin valmiin kohokuvioidun korttipohjan värittämistä musteilla ja ihastuin! Hankin nipun lisää kohokuvioituja korttipohjia, mutta nämä ovatkin eri merkkiä eikä ollenkaan niin  helppoja värittää musteilla. Tässä yksi kokeilu, laitoin useampaa eri mustetta saadakseni kesän tuntua perhosiin. Kortin kohokohta on quilling -tekniikalla tekemäni kukka, vähän kielon ja kissankellon risteytys. Osallistun Winter Wonderland -haasteeseen.

After this successful card based on a premade embossed cardbase, I was very eager to buy more. But these are of different brand, and I find them harder to colour. So here is one attempt, I gave the embossing several colours to blend it. The focal point is a quilled flower I made. The sentiment means 'congrats' in Finnish. The butterflies go for Winter Wonderland challenge.

Hyvää uutta vuotta 2014! / Happy New Year 2014!

Vuosi sitten asetin tavoitteekseni blogin viidentenä vuonna blogata useammin ja uudistaa blogia. Käytännössä otin tavoitteeksi 80 postausta, koska sellaisia lukemia tuli blogin parina ensimmäisenä vuotena (pari viime vuotta onkin postausten lukumäärästä päätellen mennyt opiskelukiireissä). Kesällä postaukset jäivät aika minimiin, mutta saavutin tavoitteeni pienellä loppukirillä :)

Blogini uudistus alkoi jo vuosi sitten tein oman logon nettinimelleni ja aloin käyttää sitä allekirjoituksena, logona ja bannerissa. Viime talvena aloin merkitsemään tekemäni kortitkin sillä, kun tilasin oman leiman Flonzilta Uudesta-Seelannista.

Leima on siis punaisesta kumista tehty akryylileima. Mukana tulee kyllä pehmikettä ja tarra puupalikkaa varten, mutta minä halusin nimenomaan läpinäkyvän leiman. Hyvin on kestänyt käyttöä, joten voin suositella.

Kesällä kävin läpi blogini noin 250 postausta ja tein uudet tunnisteet. Arvostan itse huolella tehtyjä tunnisteita, koska se auttaa myös lukijoita löytämään haluamansa. Joka sanan edesä oleva numerokoodi voi näyttää hämmentävältä, mutta koodit auttavat minua kategorioinnissa. Voin selittää tarkemminkin järjestelmääni, huikatkaa jos haluatte kuulla.

Miltä vuosi 2014 sitten näyttää tässä blogissa? Aion edelleen aktiivisesti blogata. Ainakin tämä yllättävä joululahja sisareltani tuo ihan uudenlaisia kortteja. Sain Cuttlebugin! Eli stanssaus ja kohokuviointi alkavat tässäkin blogissa :) Muutama väline on jo matkalla, että pääsisin testaamaan tätä. Eli korttien määrä ei kauheasti vähentyne, vaikka nukkekoteilu valloittaa postauksia koko ajan. Onko lukijoillani ehdotuksia tai toivomuksia blogin tulevalle vuodelle? Kommentoikaa ihmeessä :)

Year 2013 was the fifth for this blog. A year ago I planed to be more active blogger and renew my blog. I needed something practical to make it happen and my goal was 80 posts like in my early years. The start was good, but in the summer my activity was elsewhere. With a little final sprint I was able to meet my goal :)

The renewing of my blog started over a year ago I made signature for myself and started using it on the photos and banner too. Last winter I started to stamp the backs of my cards with it too, because I ordered a custom stamp from Flonz in New Zealand.

It's a clear stamp from red acrylic. It comes with a piece of cushion and sticker for the back of wooden block, but I prefer to have a see-through-stamp. This works really well, I can recommend it!

In the summer I did renew my labeling system and went through around 250 posts. Now everything is in English too. I used number codes to help myself keep track of them, I can explain them better if someone wishes.

The year 2014 looks good for this blog. I intend to keep it active this year too. In the picture you can see a surprise Christmas present from my sister - the Cuttlebug! So die-cutting and embossing will be seen in this blog too. The first dies and embossing folders are on their way to me. So the number of cards probably won't decline much, although dollhouse things take more and more of my blog posts. Do my readers have any wishes or suggestions for this year? Please comment :)
