Merellisiä lasikoruja / Sea themed glass jewelry

Tällaisen meren innoittaman korusetin olen tehnyt joskus. Pahoittelen kauheita kuvia, silloin kuvaaminen ei onnistunut. Käytin metallilankaa ja lasihelmiä, koruosat ovat 925 hopeaa. Käyttämällä pieniä helmiäishelmiä välissä koruista ei tullut liian raskaita, kuten isoja lasihelmiä käytettäessä on vaarana. Korvakorut näkyvät vähän huonosti, ne piti pitää melko lyhyenä.

I made this sea inspired jewelry set some time ago. I apologize for the horrible images, back then photographing was quite hard for me. I used metal wire and glass beads, the locks etc. are 925 silver. I used quite big glass beads, but managed to keep the necklace quite lightweighted with small pearl beads. The earrings are hard to see in the photograph, but they are quite short.

A close up of the jewelry box I made. With acrylic stamps by Inkadinkado it was easy to stamp the round shape too.

Kissa kuusessa / Cat at the tree

Tällä viikolla Winter Wonderland haastessa kaivataan joulukuusia, minun omani latvassa killuukin kissa :) Tämä suloinen leima on Penny Blackin. Korttipohjan leimasin Versamarkilla ja piirsin kuvalle kehykset valkoisella geelikynällä. Koristelin kyllä kuusen pallot glossy accentilla, mutta se ei juurikaan kuvassa näy.

This week over at Winter Wonderland challenge Christmas trees are asked. Mine has a cat at the top xD This cute stamp is made by Penny Black. I kept the card quite simple, background stamped with Versmark and frame drawn with white gel pen. I did add glossy accent to the baubles, but it doesn't much show in the image. 

Äidille / For my Mother

Tässä on tämänvuotinen äitienpäiväkortti. Inspiroiduin Creativity lehden edellisestä numerosta, en ole kokeillut tällaista kollaasia aiemmin. 'Äiti' on kirjoitettu pahvikirjaimilla, jotka päällystin kauniilla paperilla. Saman lehtiön papereista tein leikkurilla koristeita korttiin. Taustalla oleva kakkupaperi menee tarkoituksella kortista yli, pidän siitä näin. Osallistun the Pink Elephant haasteeseen.

Here's my Mothers Day card this year. This was inspired by Creativity issue #37 by docrafts, I haven't tried this type of collage before. I covered chipboard letters with beautiful pink paper (it says 'mother' in finnish), and punched some embellishments from the same paper pad. The doily goes over the cardbase and I like it. Mothers day is the theme for the Pink Elephant challenge.

Vielä kerran figaro / Figaro one more time

Kolmas versio figaro-korviksista. Näissä on päässä vain 925-hopeainen helmi, ihanan yksinkertaista. Nämä ainakin pääsivät kovaan käyttöön, saaja on tykännyt :)

For the third version of the earrings with figaro chain, I only added a 925 silver bead to the end. So simple and lovely. These ones have gotten a lot of use, the receiver really liked them :)

Ruusuja ja huurretta / Roses and frosted

Tällaisenkin korusetin olen tehnyt aiemmin, korvakorut ja ranneketjun. Materiaalina 925 hopea ja ruusukuvioiset sekä huurretut lasihelmet. Välissä on muutama hopeahelmi tasapainottamassa ja keventämässä korua.

I have made this set of earrings and bracelet before. I used 925 silver and rosethemed and frosted glass beads. There are couple of silver beads to balance the bracelet, they are also lighter than glass beads.

Vihreä pääsiäispupu / Green Easter bunny

Tein vain muutaman pääsiäisekortin tänä vuonna ja nekin ovat jääneet esittelemättä. Tilasin hiljattain uusi-seelantilaiselta Flonzilta reunusleimoja, jolla leimasin pupuja puuvillanauhaan. Tiimarista löytynyt puinen pupukuvio sopi hyvin yhteen. Taustalle leimasin Fiskarsin viiniköynöstä pari kertaa ja koristelin kukkasilla. Keväisiä värejä pyydettiin One Sweet Challenge haasteessa.

I only made couple of Easter cards, but I haven't gotten around to publish them. I ordered some border stamps from Flonz, I used the bunny stamp on the piece of white ribbon. It looks good with the wooden bunny shape I found at the local craft store. I stamped some vine borders by Fiskars  and decorated them with punched flowers. Spring time colours were asked in the One Sweet challenge.

Ruskeaa / Brown

 Ruskea on teemana näissä nukkekodin vaatteissa. Tein tummanruskeita vaatteita sammakoille, ajattelin sen hillitsevän heidän kirkkaanvihreyttään. Mutta nyt minusta tuntuu, että esimerkiksi kirkkaan sininen sopii paljon paremmin yhteen vihreän kanssa. Mitä mieltä olet?

 Brown is theme for these dollhouse clothes. I made some brown clothes for the frogs, sort of tune down their bright green. But now I feel, that bright blue example, embraces their colour better. What do you think?

Ruskeat vaatteet tein ruskeasta kankaasta, jossa on turkooseja kukkia ja raitoja. Tytölle niistä syntyi helposti värikäs mekko, pojan haalareita varten leikkasin lähes vain ruskeaa näkymään. Tytön mekko on tehty pitsistä, jossa on leveä kangasreuna ilmeisesti ompelemista varten.

The brown fabric has turqoise flowers and borders, and easy to make a dress for a girl and overalls for a boy. I cut the fabric in order to get almost solid brown for the boy :) The blue dress is made from lace ribbon, with wide fabric edge for sewing.

Kun näin Eurokankaan käsityöpuuvillakorissa tämän vaaleanruskean kankaan pikkuruisilla mustilla ruusuilla, se näytti minusta juuri sopivalta isoäidille. Joten saanko esitellä norsuisoäidin! Tein hänelle lasitkin hopeoidusta kuparilangasta.

When I saw this light brown fabric with tiny black roses, it looked perfect for a granmother. So let me introduce to you Granmother Elephant! I even made her glasses with some silverpleated copper wire meant for jewelry.

Tässä hän on erään lapsenlapsensa kanssa. Musta pitsihuivi sopisi kokonaisuuteen, en vain vielä tiedä kuinka toteuttaisin sen.

Here she is with one of her grandchildren. I'm thinking about giving her a black lace shawl, but I don't how to implement this idea yet.

Perhosia / The Moth

Lainasin ystävän kulmaleikkuria, otin kulmaan ohjaavat osat pois, ja leikkelin ympyröitä. Näistä kakkupaperin tapaisista tuli aika kivoja.

I borrowed a corner punch from a friend of mine, took corner pieces out, and punched round pieces. I like these paper doilies.

Ensimmäistä ympyrää käytin reunustamaan tätä ihanaista Sweet Pea Stampsin kuvaa. Sitä ei paljon jäänyt näkyviin, mutta silaus mustaa muutti kummasti korttia. Korttipohjaan leimasin Inkadinkadon leimalla vihreällä musteella, ja väritin musteella. Koristeeksi tein kuultopaperista perhosia. Osallistun One Sweet Challenge ja Simon Says Stamp haasteisiin.

The first one I used as a frame for this gorgeous Sweet Pea stamps image. It doesn't show much, but little black made a difference to the card. I did some tone on tone stamping and colouring with an Inkadinkado stamp to the background. I punched some butterflies from vellum to embellish the card. I enter the One Sweet Challenge with this shaped card base, and the anything goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp challenge.

Talvipuu / Winter tree

Pidän näistä haamumaisista lumikuvista. Valkoisella StazOn musteella leimasin kuusen ja lisäilin yksityiskohtia valkoisella geelikynällä. Hanki on revitty pala kuultopaperia, mutta kaksipuoleinen teippi näkyy liian hyvin läpi. Lunta kaivataankin Christmas Stampin' All Year Long haasteessa.

I like the look of snow in this card. I stamped the Artemio tree with StazOn white on dark blue cardstock, and it turned out to be ghostly image. I added some more snow with white gel pen. The snow in the ground is ripped piece of vellum, but unfortunately the double sided tape shows through. The greeting means 'Christmas Joy' in Finnish. Celebrating snow is theme for Christmas Stampin' All Year Long challenge this week.

Nukkauksesta / About re-flocking

Nukkekotieni asukkaat ovat muovisia hahmoja, jotka on päällystetty nukalla. Nukka toisinaan kuluu, joten kokeilin voiko hahmoa nukata uudelleen.  Askarteluliikkeissä nukkaa myydään nimellä 'flock'. Itse ostin muutaman purkin 'Fun flock' merkkistä, taitaa olla Stampendouksen valmistamaa. Kyseessä on kovin pienet hiukkaset, jotan työalusta kannattaa päällystää sanomalehdellä, ja suusuojasta ei ole haittaa.

I tried re-flocking my dollhouse critters. They are plastic flocked figures, but sometimes the flocking comes off. I bought some 'Fun flock' by Stampendous from a craft store. The flock is so tiny, that I recommend newspaper for the table, and cover your mouth and nose.

Kaadoin nukan astiaan, josta sitä on helppo lisätä siivilän läpi. Ensin käsittelin hahmoa kuvassa ylhäällä vasemmalla näkyvällä 'embossing buddylla', joka ehkäisee nukan tarttumista liimattomiin kohtiin. Käytin kynämallisia liimoja, koska ajattelin niitä olevan helpompi annostella pieni määrä hahmolle. 

I poured the flock into a bigger container for easier access. I used 'embossing buddy' on the figure to prevent flock from adhering to everywhere. With glue pen it was easy to cover the bald places.

Sitten vain siivilöimään nukkaa liimalle. Kauniisti nukka tuli siivilän läpi, mutta näytti heti paakkuiselta kasassa.

Keep the figure above the container and then sieve some flock to the figure. I sieved quite much and it sticked better if I pressed the flocking. I don't know if some other glue would have worked better.

Vasemmalla alkuperäinen hahmo ja oikean kasvoja on korjattu nukkauksella. Nukattu kerros on ohuempi kuin alkuperäinen, mutta erottunisi vähemmän jos väri olisi tismalleen sama. Mutta mistäköhän saisi juuri oikean väristä nukkaa.

On the left is an original figure and the one on the right got some flocking to his face. The flocked layer is thinner than the original. It wouldn't stand out so well, if the flock were same colour. But I don't know where would be such a wide selection of coloured flock.

Kokeilin myös hiiren hännen nukkaamista, mutta ei sekään onnistunut. Muodonkin takia oli jo hankalaa, ehkä olisi pitänyt keksiä joku toinen liima.

My other flocking project was a tail of a mouse. It didn't go wery well. The shape makes it hard, I had to press the flocking in order it to attach at all, and the colour is way too light.

Tässä vielä kokeilu 'flower softilla'. Nukka on eri asia kuin kukka-aines, vaikka se olisi kuinka pieneksi jauhettu. Kukkajuttu on vähän liiankin elävän näköistä, kuten norsun kärsästä näkyy. Onneksi liimani ei juuri kestä vettä, ja hahmon sai taa siistiksi.

Then I experimented with flower soft. Even though it's ultra fine, it has too much texture for flocking, as you can see by looking at the trunk of the elephant. Luckily I could wash it off.

Toiset figarokorvikset / Another pair of figaro earrings

Tässä toinen pari korvakoruja figaroketjusta. Näihin tuli samanväriset lasihelmet, lyhyempiin pätkiin sydämet ja pidempiin kukat. Sydämet ovat isommat kuin toisissa korvakoruissa, mutta niin ihanat.

Here's another pair of earring made of figaro chain. These have glass beads of same colour, the shorter chain has a heart and the longer has a flower. I like the delicate colour of pink.

Joulusukka / Christmas stocking

Tällä viikolla Winter Wonderland haasteessa pyydettiin joulusukkia. Siis semmoisia, joita ainakin amerikkalaiset ripustavat takanreunalle ja ja pukki tuo lahjat niihin. Tämä sukka on Penny Blackin leima, tuo siili on niin ihastuttava! Paperi on Tiimarin paperikosta, ja koristelin sukkaa ja napin kimalleliimalla.

This week Christmas stockings are wanted in the Winter Wonderland challenge. Mine is by Penny Black, I love the hedgehog in the front of it. I used premade paper for the card, and added glitter glue to the stocking and the button.
