Perhosia talven keskelle / Butterflies in the middle of winter

Pidetäämpä tauko joulukorteista ja mustasta talvesta, vähän perhosia kehiin. Nämä ruudut ovat ihania Inkadinkadon tuumasia, jotka leimasin Versamarkilla ja embossasin valkoisella. Pyörittelin joitakin Distress musteita väreiksi ruutuihin. Ihania ruutuja :) Osallistun Cute Card Thursdayn haasteeseen.

Let's take a break from all the Christmas cards and black Winter, I want to show you some butterflies. These are beautiful Inkadinkado inchies, which stamped with Versamark and embossed with white powder. Then I coloured them with few Distress inks, tried to keep them simple and harmonic. I just love this look :) The sentiment is an old foam stamp of mine, lovelys scrolls. I enter the Cute Card Thursday challenge (anything goes).

Laukkuja, laukkuja / Bags, bags

Winter Wonderland haastaa näyttämään muotiaiheisen kortin tällä viikolla. Tämän kortin tein muuttaneelle siskolleni. Tiimarin teeaiheisen paperikon sivulle väirtin huiviin kietoutuneen Miss Anyan ja jalkoihin toisen Anya setin laukkuja.

This week Winter Wonderland asked for fashion related card. I made this card for my sister, when she moved - it's filled with bags. I added wintery Scarf Anya to a piece of design paper and the bags belong to Anyas too. 

Vanerin paloja / Bits of wood veneer

Tigerista olen löytänyt tällaisia nukkekodin kalustesettejä. Kyseessä on siis vanerimaiset levyt, joihin on laserleikattu muodot ja itse saa ne koota. Tosin varovainen saa olla ohuiden kohtien kanssa, aina ei ole laserilla mennyt pohjaan asti ja vaneri katkeaa.

I have found some dollhouse furniture sets at Tiger. They are laser cut on wood veneer, and one must assemble them. Although you need to be careful with them, the veneer brakes easily.

Tässä näkyvät kolme löytämääni settiä: makuuhuone, olohuone ja ruokailuhuone. Mukana tulee softiksen paloja ja tarroja, että voi koristella itse.

Here you can see the set I have found: bedroom, living room and dining room. The pieces of foam and stickers are included for decorating.

Tässä joitakin huonekaluja koottuina. En ole kovin vakuuttunut =/ Pöytää en saanut suoraan ja tuolit ovat liian pieniä pikkaraisilleni.

Here are some furniture assembled. I'm not convinced =/ The table isn't straight or sturdy and the chairs are too small for my critters.

The tiny stools I fell in love right away. Others need makeover, you'll see what happened to them...

Valkeaa joulua / White Christmas

Valkea joulu toteutui lähinnä joulukorteissa tänä vuonna. Tässä korttipohjassa on kivaa tektuuria, joten pidin koristeet yksinkertaisina. Inkadinkadon kuusen leimasin valkoisella ja embossasin läpinäkyvällä, joten ihan valkeaa siitä ei tullut. Tähdet piirsin hopeatussilla, nauha on organzaa ja joulukuusen puolipalloissa helmiäistä. Osallistun Charisman Cardzin haasteeseen.

I had white Christmas only on cards like these - we still don't have any snow. I stamped the Inkadinkado tree with white StazOn and embossed with clear. The cardstock had nice texture, so card didn't need much decorations. Just a piece of white organza, few drawn stars and couple of half pearls. Anything goes for Charisma Cardz challenge.

Sininen, valkoinen ja punainen / Blue, white and red

Englanninkielisten korttihaasteblogien heinäkuiset sininen, valkoinen ja punainen haasteet eivät ole koskaan olleet mieleeni, mutta väriyhdistelmähän on sopiva joulukorttiin! Puinen punainen porokuvio on löytö Tiimarista, ja sininen korttipohja sai valkoista StazOn mustetta Artemion joulutekstillä. Koristeeksi tein lumihiutaleita leikkurilla kuultopaperista. Koska kuultopaperista näkyy liimat läpi, niihin piti laittaa puolihelmet peittämään liimatäpliä. Voinkin valita tämä väriyhdistelmän Less is more haasteessa.

I'm not into the regular blue+white+red card challenges, which many card card challenges have in the summer. But it looks great in Christmas card, doesn't it? :) My red is the cute reindeer wood figure I found in a local craft shop. I stamped Artemio Christmas script with white StazOn Opaque on dark blue cardstock and decorated with punched vellum snowflakes. Luckily I can pick this color combo in Less is More challenge.

Tiukuja / Jingle bells

Nämä Penny Blackin siilet on leimattu kaverin leimalla, kiitosterveiset hänelle :) Olen kokenut kuvan hankalaksi, kun siihen on tullut vain ruskeita siilejä ja keltaisia tiukuja. Selatessa Dovecraftin paperikkoa, huomasin tällaisen kulkuspaperin. Se onkin juuri sopiva pari tälle kuvalle, johon tulee eloa eri väirisllä tiu'uilla. Väritin akvarellikynillä ja Distress Markereilla sekaisin. Teksin valmistajaa en tiedä. Osallistun Penny Black Lauantain jouluhaasteeseen.

I have found this Penny Black image hard to use on cards, with only colours being brown hedgies and yellow Christmas bells. I flipped through Dovecraft Christmas papers and found this one with colourful bells, and realised how great it would be with this image! Now I love the image :) I coloured it with aquarell watercolour pencils and Distress Markers. Christmas cards are asked in Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

Violetti hetki / Violet moment

Tällainen korusetti on jäänyt esittelemättä. Tämä on tehty muistaakseni Preciosan lasihelmisekoituksessa - suurin osa oli tummanvioletteja lasihelmiä, joukossa pari tuollaista marjapuurompaa. Kauniisti oli eri muotoisia, niin sai vähän vaihtelemalla symmetrisyyttä koruihin, ja osaan sopi helmihattuja koristeeksi. Koska lasihelmet painavat, kaulakoruun tuli sivulle ja taakse hopeaketjua.

I have forgotten to show you this set of jewelry I made. The glass beads are from a mix by Preciosa, most are dark violet glass beads, some had were more purple with milky look. The shapes varied, so I had fun organizing them and finding places for saucers. Since glass beads are heavy, the necklace have only few of them and mostly 925 silver chain.

Tein settiin myös korurasian, koristelin leimaamalla Hero Artsin / Basic greyn kukkaa liialla. 

I also made a box for this jewelry set, I stamped a flower from an Hero Arts & Basic Grey set with Versafine (Imperial Purple).

Kissa ja lehvät / Cat with hollie

Koska Penny Blackin kissillä on lehväseppele, siihen löytyi sopiva paperi Dovecraftin paperikosta. Leikkurilla tein koristeeksi lehviä myös kuvan taakse, olkoonkin oikeasti vaahteran lehtiä. Taas hyödynsin Tiimarin tarraa ja koristeeksi muutama puolihelmi. Osallistun Penny Black and More haasteeseen.

This cute Penny Black cat has wreath of hollie leaves on its head, and I found a similar paper from Dovecraft designer paper block. I punched some maple leaves and put them behind the image. The sticker says Merry Christmas in Finnish. Traditional Christmas colours were asked for Penny Black and More challenge.

Bling bling

Bling tai glitter eivät ole koskaan olleet minun juttuni. Siksi ylitin itseni tällä kortilla! Korttipohja on helmiäishohtoinen, ja tähdet tehty hopeatussilla. Kohojauheella käsitelty Inkadinkadon kuusi ei hohda, mutta koristeeksi tuli pari tekotimanttia. Ostin muuten ensimmäistä kertaa alkuperäistä Glossy accenttia, ja se toimii oikeasti todella hyvin tällaisten pienten juttujen kiinnitykseen. Hopeanhohtoiseen organzanauhaan vielä pieni kulkunen ääntä tuomaan. Bling onkin Simon Says Stamp keskiviikkohaasteena.

Bling or glitter hasn't ever been my thing. So I outdid myself with this card! The cardstock has pearly shine and I drew the stars with silver pen. The white embossed Inkadinkado Christmas tree doesn't shine, but it's decorated with rhinostones. I bought original Glossy accent for the first time, and it works well as adhesive for things like these, by the way. The organza ribbon has silvery shine and I added a little jingle bell for the middle. Bling was asked in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Toinen joulukeiju / Another Christmas fairy

Tein toisen joulukeijun TGFn perjantaihaasteeseen, jonka aiheena on joulutoiveet. Keiju on väritetty suoraan Distress Markereilla, joten varjostuksia ei syntynyt.Taustaan leimasin Inkadinkadon lumihiutalekoukeroita vesileimamusteella, ja tein koristeeksi joulutähtiä leikkureilla. Hyvää joulua tarra on Tiimarista.

The theme of Farm Fresh Friday challenge at TGF is Christmas Wishes. I tuned Flutter Anya into Christmas fairy to make your wishes true :) I stamped Inkadinkado snowflake flourishes  on the cardstock with Versamark, and made poinsettias with punches. The Christmas wishes in Finnish is a sticker.

joulutähtönen / poinsettia

Tämä Stampendouksen joulutähti näyttää ihanalta, mutta käytössä osoittautui kauhean vaikeaksi värittää. Tässä yksi onnistuneimpia versioita, kun jaksoin tuputtaa terälehtiin ja lehtiin eri värejä (hankala homma kun ovat niin lähekkäin leimassa). Paljon mutta kortti ei sitten tarvinnutkaan koristeeksi, helmiäisaineella koristelin kukkien keskustat. Kehys on tehty Prima Marketing leimalla ja tekstikin on Stampendouksen. Osallistun Less is more haasteeseen teemalla yksi kerros ja kuva reunan ulkopuolella.

Less is more lets you pick any of their past challenges. I picked one of the firsts, one layer and off the edge. This Poinsettia Silhouette stamp by Stampendous looks gorgeous, but in use turned out a little hard. This is one of the good stampings, when I coloured the flower and leaves with different inks. It wasn't easy with such a detailed image. The frame is made with a Prima Marketing stamp and the Merry Christmas wishes in Finnish is by Stampendous too.

Minimekkoja / Mini dresses

Ompeluiden innostamana olen kokeillut myös mekkojen tekemistä vauvakokoisille hahmoille. Pandavauva sai vaaleanmekon kerran junamatkalla ja alkoi näyttää vanhemmalta.

Sewing got me into trying making dresses for baby sized Sylvanians. A baby panda doesn't look so young anymore in this white dress.

Siilistä tuli vallan aikuinen kukkamekossa! Pidempi helma peittää jalat ja hahmo näytää pidemmältä. Siilin pään ja siinää kiini olevat piikit pystyy kääntämään sivulle ja mekon puettua päälle ja pois. Neiti ei taida vauvaksi enää palata, vaan hänelle täytyy hommata oman kokoisensa koti. Mutta panda tarvinnee oikeita vauvavaatteita...

The hedgehog baby turned into a adult with this lovely flower pattern! She looks taller with longer hem - her feet don't show at all. The dress is closed with button in the back and can be removed (as all my miniature clothes). I don't think she will return to be baby, she will have a home of her own. But the panda baby needs actual baby clothes...

Joulukeiju / Christmas fairy

Muutama viikko sitten The Greeting Farmin perjantaihaasteena oli mielenkiintoinen luonnos. Olin juuri ostanut Flutter Anyan ja halusin käyttää leimaa heti.

The Fresh Friday Challenge of The Greeting Farm had an interesting sketch couple of weeks ago. I had just gotten a new stamp, Flutter Anya, and were eager to use it!

Anyasta tuli joulukeiju sopivalla värityksellä, minusta siipiin sopi erinomaisesti punainen ja valkoinen. Mekon jätin valkoiseksi, mutta paidasta tein vihreän. Leikkasin kuvan reunoja myöten, koska se sopii mielentäni TGFn leimoille parhaiten. Koristeeksi riitti pari lumihiutaletta ja toivotus on Tiimarin tarra.

I gave Anya a little Christmas style with red & white wings and with green shirt. I coloured her dress just white to complete the look. I cut her out of the paper, because it suits TGF stamps the best. The banner is a ready sticker with Christmas wishes in Finnish. I added couple of snowflakes to decorate the card.

Quetzal

Tietosanakirjani on lähes unohtunut, joten tartuin tuumasta toimeen. Päädyin vaikeaan kirjaimeen - Q. Mutta löytyihän sieltä sopiva sana: quetzal eli atsteekkien pyhä lintu. Hieroin vähän valkoista akryylimaalia sivulle, että sana erottuisi paremmin. Sitten leimasin Inkadinkadon linnun Versafinen kahdella värillä, vihreällä ja punaisella kuten quetzalit ovatkin.

I have quite forgotten the dictionary challenge, my poor book. I ended up picking a quite hard word - Q. There aren't many things that start with this letter. But I was able to find a good one - quetzal. It's a holy bird of the Aztec. I smeared some white paint to the page, so that the definition would stand out. Then I stamped an Inkadinkado bird with Versafine colours. Quetzals can be green and red, this was as close as I could get to that.

Perhosia / Butterflies

Heitetäänpä yksi ystävänpäivä-kortti tänne joulukorttien väliin. Embossasin Inkadinkadoon kukka- ja perhostuumaset valkoisella ja värittelin Distress-musteita - näistä tulee aina ihania :) Jotain luonnosta silloin käytin, mutta mistäs enää tiedän mikä se oli. Leiman olen ostanut jo monta vuotta sitten Kuusamosta. Osallistun Creative Knockouts haasteeseen.

Let me show a Valentines day card here between Christmas cards. I embossed the Inkadinkado inchies with white and coloured with Distress inks - these turn out always so pretty :) I used some sketch as a base, but I don't know which one anymore. I don't know the manufacture of the sentiment stamp, it's on foam. I punched the inchies, so that goes for the Creative Knockouts challenge.

Poro / Reindeer

Tämä oli ensimmäinen kokeiluni Poppy Stampsin poroleimalla. Suoraan kuviopaperille leimasin poron Versafinella, mutta mustaa piti täydentää tussilla jälkikäteen. Poron kohdalta väritin kuviopaperia valkoisella distress markerilla, jotta siluetti erottuisi paremmin. Koristeeksi laitoin koristeteippiä ja nauhaan pienen kulkusen. Osallistun ABC Christmas haasteeseen, jossa pyydettiin poroja. 

This is my first card with Deer Silhouette by Poppy Stamps. I stamped the image straight on to designer paper (by Dovecraft), but I had to make it blacker with marker pen. I coloured some of the cardstock with Picket Fence Distress Marker for the deer to show better. I used a piece of washi tape and a jingle bell on the bakers twine for decoration. Reindeers are the theme for ABC Christmas challenge.

Siluetti / Silhouette

Suosikkejani ovat siluettileimat. Kun näin Leimailutaivaassa Paperinauhalla tämän Poppy Stampsin leiman peuran siluetista kuusien edessä, olin myyty! Mojo Monday haasteluonnoksen inspiroimana leimasin ja embossasin valkoisella kuuset ruskealle tagille. Versamarker-kynällä pystyin embossaamaan myös tagin reunat. Helsingin kädentaitomessuilta ostamani Farnian joulutoivotus-korttipohja sopi oikein hyvin tagin väreihin. Koska en halunnut peittää korttipohjaa, käytin luonnoksen paperipalaksi kuultopaperia, ja koristeeksi riitti pari leikkurilla tehtyä kukkaa.

I love silhouette images. When I saw this cling stamp by Poppy Stamps, Silhouette of a deer against spruces, it was instantly my favourite. Inspired by the sketch of Mojo Monday, I stamped the Deer Silhouette and embossed it with white on kraft cardstock. With Versamarker I was able to emboss the edges of the tag too. I used premade cardstock with printed Christmas greetings in Finnish, because it fit the colours of the tag. I embellished the card with strip of vellum and and couple of punched flowers.

Rypytettyä / Some smocking

 Aiemmin esittelemäni pandojen mekot on tehty tällä pilkkujen rypytystekniikalla. Pilkkukangasta ei sattunut olemaan saatavilla, joten käytin säännöllistä kukkakuviota. Ensimmäinen kokeilu, musta mekko rouva pandalle onnistui yli odotusten! Kiinnitin ohuesta silkkinauhasta lähes näkymättömät olkaimet mekkoon, jotta se pysyy hyvin päällä. Tekniikka toimii myös ruutukuviolla kuten vihreästä mekosta näkee.

 The dresses fo the pandas were made with this smocking polka dot technique. I didn't have polka dot pattern fabric, so I used black with symmetric white flowers. The dress for Mother Panda was a success! I made straps from silk ribbon, they are meant to be invisible. The techique works for diamond pattern too, as you can see from the green dress. 

Ihastuneena tekniikkaan kokeilin hihojen tekoa, tällä kertaa pilkkukankaasta. En osaa neuvoa kuinka, päätin rypytyksen sitä mukaa kun mekkoa tein. Tekniikalla oli vaikeaa saada tiukka kaulus, mutta se ei minua haittaa. Olen kovin ihastunut tekniikkaan, yläosasta tulee mielenkiintoinen ja helma avautuu siitä kauniisti. Helman leveys riippuu kankaan kuvion koosta.

My next experiment was making armseyes. I decided to try polka dot pattern fabric this time. The blue dress turned out awesome for miss Snow-Warren! I can't give instructions for these, because I go with what looks good along working on it. It's hard to get it tight around neck, but I don't mind. Technique gives interesting top for a dress, and the hem comes so nicely from the folds. The width of the dress depends on the pattern size of the fabric.

Joulukortti / Christmas card

Tämän kortin idenaa toimi tuo valmiina ostettu paperi, jossa on piparkakkureunaa ja joulupalloja. Leimasin siihen jouluntoivotukset ja glossy accenttia kirkkaaksi koristeeksi joulupallojen päälle. Korttipohjaan leimasin Versamarkilla lumihiutaleita, joista osa embossattu valkoisella. Jotakin tästä kortista jäi puuttumana, mutta en tiedä mitä. Osallistun Simonin haasteeseen.

I had this die-cut design paper, I added some glossy accent to the baubles and stamped Christmas greetings in Finnish. I decorated the cardbase with snoflakes, I embossed some of them with white. Still the card needs something, put I can't put my finger on it. Anyway anything goes for the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

Liityväreillä / With chalks

Tein kirjanmerkin Charisma Cardz haasteeseen. Leimasin upean Hero Artsin kuvan Versamarkilla ja väritin liituväreillä. Kokelin kolmella värillä liukuväriä vaaleasta tummaan. Teksti on Inkadinkadon.

Charisma Cardz challenge for this week was to make something other than a card. I made a tag into a bookmark. I stamped my beautiful Hero Arts image with Versamarka and coloured it with chalks. I tried to slide the colour into darker. I stamped the Inkadinkado sentiment with Vintage Sepia.
