Perhosia / Butterflies

Heitetäänpä yksi ystävänpäivä-kortti tänne joulukorttien väliin. Embossasin Inkadinkadoon kukka- ja perhostuumaset valkoisella ja värittelin Distress-musteita - näistä tulee aina ihania :) Jotain luonnosta silloin käytin, mutta mistäs enää tiedän mikä se oli. Leiman olen ostanut jo monta vuotta sitten Kuusamosta. Osallistun Creative Knockouts haasteeseen.

Let me show a Valentines day card here between Christmas cards. I embossed the Inkadinkado inchies with white and coloured with Distress inks - these turn out always so pretty :) I used some sketch as a base, but I don't know which one anymore. I don't know the manufacture of the sentiment stamp, it's on foam. I punched the inchies, so that goes for the Creative Knockouts challenge.

Poro / Reindeer

Tämä oli ensimmäinen kokeiluni Poppy Stampsin poroleimalla. Suoraan kuviopaperille leimasin poron Versafinella, mutta mustaa piti täydentää tussilla jälkikäteen. Poron kohdalta väritin kuviopaperia valkoisella distress markerilla, jotta siluetti erottuisi paremmin. Koristeeksi laitoin koristeteippiä ja nauhaan pienen kulkusen. Osallistun ABC Christmas haasteeseen, jossa pyydettiin poroja. 

This is my first card with Deer Silhouette by Poppy Stamps. I stamped the image straight on to designer paper (by Dovecraft), but I had to make it blacker with marker pen. I coloured some of the cardstock with Picket Fence Distress Marker for the deer to show better. I used a piece of washi tape and a jingle bell on the bakers twine for decoration. Reindeers are the theme for ABC Christmas challenge.

Siluetti / Silhouette

Suosikkejani ovat siluettileimat. Kun näin Leimailutaivaassa Paperinauhalla tämän Poppy Stampsin leiman peuran siluetista kuusien edessä, olin myyty! Mojo Monday haasteluonnoksen inspiroimana leimasin ja embossasin valkoisella kuuset ruskealle tagille. Versamarker-kynällä pystyin embossaamaan myös tagin reunat. Helsingin kädentaitomessuilta ostamani Farnian joulutoivotus-korttipohja sopi oikein hyvin tagin väreihin. Koska en halunnut peittää korttipohjaa, käytin luonnoksen paperipalaksi kuultopaperia, ja koristeeksi riitti pari leikkurilla tehtyä kukkaa.

I love silhouette images. When I saw this cling stamp by Poppy Stamps, Silhouette of a deer against spruces, it was instantly my favourite. Inspired by the sketch of Mojo Monday, I stamped the Deer Silhouette and embossed it with white on kraft cardstock. With Versamarker I was able to emboss the edges of the tag too. I used premade cardstock with printed Christmas greetings in Finnish, because it fit the colours of the tag. I embellished the card with strip of vellum and and couple of punched flowers.

Rypytettyä / Some smocking

 Aiemmin esittelemäni pandojen mekot on tehty tällä pilkkujen rypytystekniikalla. Pilkkukangasta ei sattunut olemaan saatavilla, joten käytin säännöllistä kukkakuviota. Ensimmäinen kokeilu, musta mekko rouva pandalle onnistui yli odotusten! Kiinnitin ohuesta silkkinauhasta lähes näkymättömät olkaimet mekkoon, jotta se pysyy hyvin päällä. Tekniikka toimii myös ruutukuviolla kuten vihreästä mekosta näkee.

 The dresses fo the pandas were made with this smocking polka dot technique. I didn't have polka dot pattern fabric, so I used black with symmetric white flowers. The dress for Mother Panda was a success! I made straps from silk ribbon, they are meant to be invisible. The techique works for diamond pattern too, as you can see from the green dress. 

Ihastuneena tekniikkaan kokeilin hihojen tekoa, tällä kertaa pilkkukankaasta. En osaa neuvoa kuinka, päätin rypytyksen sitä mukaa kun mekkoa tein. Tekniikalla oli vaikeaa saada tiukka kaulus, mutta se ei minua haittaa. Olen kovin ihastunut tekniikkaan, yläosasta tulee mielenkiintoinen ja helma avautuu siitä kauniisti. Helman leveys riippuu kankaan kuvion koosta.

My next experiment was making armseyes. I decided to try polka dot pattern fabric this time. The blue dress turned out awesome for miss Snow-Warren! I can't give instructions for these, because I go with what looks good along working on it. It's hard to get it tight around neck, but I don't mind. Technique gives interesting top for a dress, and the hem comes so nicely from the folds. The width of the dress depends on the pattern size of the fabric.

Joulukortti / Christmas card

Tämän kortin idenaa toimi tuo valmiina ostettu paperi, jossa on piparkakkureunaa ja joulupalloja. Leimasin siihen jouluntoivotukset ja glossy accenttia kirkkaaksi koristeeksi joulupallojen päälle. Korttipohjaan leimasin Versamarkilla lumihiutaleita, joista osa embossattu valkoisella. Jotakin tästä kortista jäi puuttumana, mutta en tiedä mitä. Osallistun Simonin haasteeseen.

I had this die-cut design paper, I added some glossy accent to the baubles and stamped Christmas greetings in Finnish. I decorated the cardbase with snoflakes, I embossed some of them with white. Still the card needs something, put I can't put my finger on it. Anyway anything goes for the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

Liityväreillä / With chalks

Tein kirjanmerkin Charisma Cardz haasteeseen. Leimasin upean Hero Artsin kuvan Versamarkilla ja väritin liituväreillä. Kokelin kolmella värillä liukuväriä vaaleasta tummaan. Teksti on Inkadinkadon.

Charisma Cardz challenge for this week was to make something other than a card. I made a tag into a bookmark. I stamped my beautiful Hero Arts image with Versamarka and coloured it with chalks. I tried to slide the colour into darker. I stamped the Inkadinkado sentiment with Vintage Sepia.
