Aaltojen alla

Kokeilin löytämilleni kiiltäväpintaisille pahvinpalasille Jehkottaren esittelemää stampingback-tekniikkaa. Tästä kuvasta sitä ei paljon erota, kun otin väriä pois vain simpukoista ja delfiinistä. Mutta tässä näkyy hyvin ero: jos ottaa veden pois paperinenäliinan kulmalla, pahvi jää ihan valkoiseksi. Jos veden jättää paikalleen, lopputulos on vaaleansininen.
I made this card using these instructions in Finnish. If anyone knows what this is called in English, I would love to know :) You stamp your image with Staz-on on glossy cardstock and let it dry. The apply ink all over the cardstock and remove it with water. You can spray the water or use wooden stick for specific places. I used napkin to remove the water, and those places are completely white.

Korttipohjassa etusivusta on vain puolet, joka on leimattu versamarkilla. Iso kuva sopii hyvin puolikkaaseen kanteen. Leimat ovat Inkadinkadon, paitsi onnea-teksti on leimattu My Sentiments Exactly aakkosilla. Vaihteeksi keksin käyttää koristeena dropseja ja laitoin glossya pärskeisiin. Osallistun Dutch Dare Card Challenge haasteeseen.
The front of my cardbase is only half, but it looks great with a big image. I stamped the front with Versamark. The stamps are by Versamark, except I made the sentiment with My Sentiment Exactly alphabets. The sentiment is congrats in Finnish - this is a birthday card. Celebrations are the theme of Dutch Dare Card Challenge now. I used drops and added glossy to the splashes.

Lentäjä koira

Idea tähän korttiin lähti spotlighting-tekniista, jolla halusin korostaa Penny Blackin Fly Away -kuvan koiraa - se on niin suloinen lentäjän hatussaan. Kokeilin monokromaattista korttia ruskeasta ja aika kiva siitä tuli. Luonnokseksi valikoitui tämän viikkoinen Mojo Monday ja Penny Blackin haasteessa piti leimata taustaa. Leimasin Versamarkilla tähtikulmaa It's your day (30-046) setistä. Muutamat tähdet väritin akvarellikynällä valkeaksi. Raitapaperi on Daisy & Dandelion setistä.
The idea of this card was spotlighting technique - I wanted to emphasize the cute dog of the Fly Away image by Penny Black. I used the sketch of this weeks Mojo Monday. Penny Black challenged to stamp the background, so I used the starry corner of It's you day set (30-046). I coloured some stars white with a watercolour pencil.

Aallonharjalla

Innostuin LOTVn blogissa esitellystä korttipohjasta, joten piti päästä itsekin kokeilemaan. Heti seuraavana päivänä siitä ilmestyi tutorial, mutta olin jo omani tehnyt vähän eri mitoilla.
I saw an extraordinary card in the LOTV blog and wanted to try it out. I had made mine before the tutorial came out the next day, but my cm measurements are different.

Tämä on synttärikortti eräälle ystävälleni. Synttärit ovatkin teemana Simon Says haasteessa. Aallon harjojen koristelu oli kivaa, jotain erilaista vaihteeksi.
I made this card for a birthday of a friend, and birthdays are theme of Simon Says Challenge this week. I liked decorating the crests, something different for a change.

Sweet Pean Spring Lunan väritin Distress musteilla ja akvarellikynillä. Värittäminen oli melkoinen homma, mutta olen lopputulokseen tytyväinen :) Leimasin Autumn leaves kiekuran ja leikkelin sen itse saksilla irti, kun minulla ei ole stanssauslaitetta sellaiseen hommaan.
I coloured the image (Spring Luna by Sweet Pea Stamps) with Distress inks and watercolouring pencils. It took quite a time, but I like how it turned out. I stamped the Autumn Leaves scroll and cut it out with scissors to put under the butterfly.

Leimasin My Sentiment Exactly aakkossetillä tekstin ja korttipohjan yhteen aaltoon syntymäpäiväsankarin täyttämät numerot. Nauhassa on lempikoristeeni: helmisolki :) Hankin niitä hiljattain lisää, joten nyt niitä riittää paljon käytettäväksi.
By friend turned 25, so I stamped the numbers with My Sentiment Exactly set on the middle crest. I used the same set for the sentiment ("Congats in Finnish"). On the ribbon is my favorite embellishment: pearl buckle :)

Kahvia ja kermaa

Innostuin pitkästä aikaa Whiff of Joyn haasteesta, kun siellä pyydettiin käyttämään paper piecing tekniikkaa. Hääkakusta tulee upea, kun sen leikkaa helmiäispaperista. Käytin inspiraationa jo menneen Whiff of Joy haasteen luonnosta ja värit otin Simon Says Stamp haasteesta. Värihaasteet eivät oikein ole alaani ja pyydettyistä väreistä, kahvista ja kermasta, ensimmäinen tuntui kummalta valinnalta hääkorttiin, joten päätin haastaa itseni. Ihastuin jo kuvaa värittäessä kahvin värisiin ruusuihin xD En käyttänyt kuviopapereita ollenkaan, vaan leimasin korttipohjaan Versamarkilla ja vintage photolla ja koristelin niitä valkoisella ja kultaisella helmiäisliimalla.

Whiff of Joy Challenge asked for paper piecing technique this week, and I have a perfect stamp for that! This wedding cake is so pretty, when it's paper pieced from pearlescent paper (if this the right term in english for the paper I used...). I challenged myself to use colours from Simon Says Challenge: coffee and cream. They felt odd at first, but I fell in love with coffee coloured roses xD I didn't use designer paper at all. The cardstock is stamped with Versamark and vintage photo, and decorated with pearl and gold liquid pearls.
